Emilia Romagna lies between the River Po to its north and the Apennine Mountains (to its south). It is one of the most fertile and productive regions of Italy, thanks to the mitigating effect that the Adriatic Sea has on the coastal climate.

The diversity between the mountains and sea offers visitors to Emilia Romagna breathtaking views, in addition to beauty for both the eyes and spirit, with a mixture of the earthy colors, the aromas and the fresh sea air. Not to mention that Emilia Romagna is a hotbed for music, cinema and art appreciated nationally and internationally.

Many who love the combination of sun, sea and entertainment choose the Romagna RivieraIt possesses the longest beach in Europe, and is where visitors flock to enjoy its sport offerings and leisure facilities. Towns such as RiminiRiccione and Cattolica are highly-outfitted for touristic reception, emphasizing relaxation and fun.

Further from the coast, the beautiful landscape of the Apennines, for instance, makes the region ideal for horseback riding or trekking in the area between Parma and Piacenza. Make a visit to the splendid parks and wonderful nature reserves.

The hinterland features several wellness spas like Salsomaggiore and Bagno di Romagna, due to its many types of water springs, as well as modern facilities and technology.

Both culinary and artistic methods found themselves on the fertile soil of this land, and their roots run deep.

This is the land of Verdi’s novels and Giovanni Pascoli’s poetry, as well as Fellini’s unmistakable cinema - a director who became a legend through his many masterpieces that come to life in this, his native region. In Emilia Romagna, one can enjoy amazing views anywhere, and the list of places to choose from is endless.

Emilia Romagna sits on the border with the third-smallest country in Europe, the Republic of San Marino.

The provinces of the region are: Bologna (the region's capital), FerraraForli-CesenaModenaParmaPiacenza, RavennaReggio Emilia, and Rimini

The territory of Bologna Province is beautiful and varied.
A topography that spreads over the plain of Po River Valley, along the Reno and the Panaro Rivers, in the hills and in the mountains, along the backbones of the Santerno and Senio Rivers to the east, and glides past the Dardagna in the west.

Numerous are the plains, hills and highlands that surround and compose the Bolognese Apennines and its highest peak, the Corno delle Scale, reaching an altitude of 6,562 feet.
The Province boasts a great number of naturalistic areas, such as the Park of Bolognese Gypsum and Badlands of Abbadessa, the Park of the Suviana and Brasimone Lakes, the Abbey of Monteveglio Regional Park, and more.

Bologna and its environs offer landscapes and nature, of course, but also art and culture. Cultural tourism is highly-emphasized and widespread, with particular attention paid to the visitor’s needs and to increasingly improving the grand heritage of the Province and its Capital.

Its geographical position, history and gastronomic tradition render the Province of Parma one of Italy's most emblematic provinces.
Located in northern Italy, this Province extends from the Po River in the north (representing Emilia Romagna's boundary with Lombardy), down to the Apennines crest separating it from Tuscany.
It is mainly made up of plains, and with its Bassa Parmense (lower province) following the course of the Po. The terrain is nothing if not evocative and suggestive, it inspires with its villages, castles and ancient churches... even when shrouded in fog.

The country is dotted with several lakes, including Lake Santo Parmense, the largest natural lake in the Romagna Region.

The Parma Apennines offer visitors pristine nature framed within a magical landscape; an ideal path network was created exactly for its discovery.

Parma is synonymous with nature, history and art. Indeed, names such as AntelamiCorreggioParmigianinoVerdi and Toscanini made their mark in a city in this sophisticated and graceful jewel of a city.

Situated in northern Italy, the Province of Rimini lies in the southeastern zone of Emilia Romagna
Well-equipped seaside resorts, borgoes and villages rich in art and history, gently-rolling hills just a stone's throw away from the water, a unique artisan tradition and - one should not forget - high-quality cuisine and gastronomic products are the elements that have made the Rimini Riviera one of Europe's most frequented vacation spots for over 160 years.

The secret to such long-lasting success? Not only the cordiality and hospitality of the area's inhabitants, but also the landscape's beauty, culture and entertainment offerings, and a prized historical-artistic heritage.
The traces left by personages the likes of Leon Battista Alberti and Piero della Francesca lend us an idea of the incredible transformation (from both a social and cultural standpoint) effected by these geniuses of art and architecture.

Observe the city's history by way its abundance of monuments, and you will see this city as more than a mere beach town.
Better yet, discover Rimini via Federico Fellini's poetic vision, and you will be sure to perceive an entirely new reality.
