In 1996, Bogogno immediately became established as one of Italy's most spectacular courses, as one might expect from architect Robert von Hagge, who seldom has much time for "minimalism". It should be said though that the way he contours the terrain is never gratuitous and is designed to vary the viewpoints, to add difficulty and isolate holes when the terrain is flat.
